This design offers a more detailed interpretation of the Sankofa bird, drawing more closely on the form and distinctive features of the original Adinkra symbol. Where our inaugural Sankofa presents the symbol in a refined, sculptural outline, this iteration brings more of the bird’s intricate character to life.

The Sankofa symbol, rooted in Akan philosophy, reminds us of the importance of looking to the past in order to move forward — to return, retrieve and reclaim what is valuable.

Crafted in solid brass with 18K gold plating, the bookmark features an intricate openwork interpretation of the Sankofa bird, finished with a delicate pearl detail.
